Antwaun Boyd, 25, who ordered food from China Xpress earlier this week, was arrested by Stamford Police Thursday after allegedly finding a fried mouse in his fried rice before punching one of the restaurant's employees, said Sgt. Robert Shawinsky.

The crazy story began after Boyd and his grandmother said they opened the fried rice and dumped it out only to find a fried mouse mixed in with the rice, police said.

Surprised, and angry, Boyd and his grandmother went to the restaurant on Selleck Street to return the rice and complain, Shawinsky said.

When he handed over the box for the restaurant employee to look at, Boyd claims the employee tried to remove the mouse and throw it away and then said Boyd was lying about the mouse, police said.

That's when Boyd responded by punching the employee in the face. A large fight then broke out as other employees came out of the kitchen with wooden spoons and began hitting Boyd, his grandmother and some of Boyd's friends, Shawinsky said.

Boyd left the restaurant, but in the process, his grandmother got left behind and was hit in the head with the spoon and was injured enough to be taken to Stamford Hospital, police said.

The employee who was punched by Boyd was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Boyd turned himself into the police later Thursday and was charged with assault and disorderly conduct, Shawinsky said.

Police said charges are also pending against the employee who hit the grandmother.

The city's health department has opened an investigation into the alleged discovery of the fried mouse.
